The "NYT" in my name, Jamell NYT, is my mantra, "Know Your Truth." After growing up through serious hardship, I knew in my head that my own truth was to find the light of it all through my passion for music. That burning passion and understanding my own truth is what gave me the motivation to keep moving forward. From sleeping on the streets and hustling subways, I found a way to keep myself safe and financially stable through my music career, something that most upcoming independent artists fail to do.
